This is the first major textbook to address both computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) cardiac imaging of adults for the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart disease (CHD). Since the introduction of faster CT scanners, there has been tremendous advancement in the diagnosis of CHD in : Springer New York. This hands-on workshop will focus on proper performance and QC testing of gamma cameras, SPECT and SPECT/CT units as wells as PET and PET/CT units. The University of Iowa has graciously allowed the use of their equipment and facilities to provide hands-on demonstrations of these testing procedures.
The text comprehensively reviews all aspects of cardiac computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and demonstrates the value of these techniques in clinical practice. This case-oriented book presents findings associated with various cardiac diseases at cardiac CT and cardiac MR imaging. Just a few years ago, integrated positron emission tomography and magnetic resonance (PET/MR) imaging was found only in research institutes, but little by little the technology has expanded into clinical practice. This is especially true for cardiac indications, for which the highly sensitive soft tissue contrast of MR and the functional and metabolic imaging of PET are particularly .
Magnetic resonance (MR) and positron emission tomography (PET) images from 4 patients with active cardiac sarcoidosis in whom characteristic patterns of myocardial late gadolinium enhancement (left column) co-localize with increased 18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose uptake (fused images, right column). Cardiac PET and PET/CT Imaging is intended to narrow this gap. The stated goal of the book is to educate, stimulate, and serve as a resource for cardiology, radiology, and nuclear medicine trainees, as well as for imaging and medical specialists. The editors and the many physician-scientist authors are well-recognized experts in the field.

Malden, Mass.: Blackwell Futura, (DLC) All studies are interpreted by physicians with advanced training in cardiac MR (CMR), cardiac CT, and/or cardiac PET/CT. CMR affords clear and precise images of the heart in motion, without ionizing x-ray radiation, and free of interference from chest structures that can limit echocardiography.
Inflammatory cardiac disorders, in particular, sarcoidosis, play an important role in left ventricular dysfunction, conduction abnormalities, and arrhythmias. In this study, we compared the imaging characteristics and diagnostic information obtained when patients were imaged sequentially with PET/CT and then with hybrid PET/MRI on the same day following a single 18F-FDG injection.
